Equal Time Intervals
Equal Distance Intervals
Code Number:
1C20.37
Demo Title:
Inclined Tracks - Timed Intervals
Condition:
Excellent
Principle:
Uniform Acceleration
Area of Study:
Mechanics
Equipment:
Two Tracks with marked intervals, 1 inch ball bearings, No-Bounce Pads.
Procedure:

Incline the tracks to the desired angle.  Place a ball at the start point and release.  The track with equal intervals will make sounds with increasing frequency.  The track with the progressively larger intervals will make sounds at regular intervals.  The intervals are proportional to the squares of the numbers, such as 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, etc.
