1R30.30 - Shear - Spring Cubes, Crystal Lattice
Place a rubber pad on the lecture bench so that the underside of the model does not move when demonstrating. Push horizontally on the top edge of the model and note the lattice shear. Shear forces to the point of lattice fracture can be demonstrated. Note that there are two such cubes. One has weak springs and one has stiffer springs.
