Plexiglas box, 400 ml beaker, 2 large neodymium magnets.

Place one magnet in the bottom of the box and cover it with the inverted 400 ml beaker.  Place the other magnet on the iron rod and clamp it up so that it can't be lowered into the box when you shut the lid.  Unclamp the rod and slowly lower it towards the beaker.  When you get close enough to the magnet in the bottom of the box it will jump up to the magnet on the rod, breaking the beaker in the process.
