Demo Title:
Maltese Cross Tube
Condition:
Good
Principle:
Electron Beams and Properties
Area of Study:
Modern Astronomy
Equipment:
Maltese Cross Tube (Tel-Atomics), 5000 Volt power Supply (813 Tel-Atomic), Induction Coil, Old Maltese Cross Tube.
Procedure:

The Maltese Cross is fixed in the tube and cannot be moved, therefore it is just a matter of turning up the power supply until the tube glows at an acceptable level.

In the old Maltese Cross tube the cross can be folded down.  This tube is normally run off of an induction coil.  One polarity of the induction coil will show a Maltese Cross pattern in the electron beam and the other polarity will just show a light green glowing plasma.
