Measuring Constant Velocity - Train and Dominoes
Measuring Constant Velocity - Car and Strobe Light
Measuring Constant Velocity - Car & Fluorescent Sheet & Laser Pendulum

Code Number: 1C10.21

Demo Title:  Measuring Constant Velocity

Condition: Good

Principle: Constant Velocity

Area of Study: Mechanics

Equipment:

Constant Velocity Car with Strobe Light, Train with Dominoes, Constant Velocity Car with Fluorescent Sheet, 403 nm Laser Pointer Pendulum

Procedure:

The train that lays dominoes is a good demonstration of constant velocity as it will make a row of dominoes with equal spacing across the table.

The constant velocity car with strobe light will blink at equal intervals of distance as the car moves across the table.

The constant velocity car can be attached to the fluorescent sheet so that it can drag it under the ultraviolet laser pointer pendulum at a constant rate.  A periodic sine wave will be produced.
