Demo Title: Smashing Spheres - 2" Ball Bearings

Condition: Good

Principle: Mechanical Energy Converted to Heat

Area of Study: Thermodynamics

Equipment:

2" ball bearings, tissue paper or regular paper.

Procedure:

Hold paper between the two ball bearings. When the bearings are smashed together heat is generated at the point of contact and burns a hole in the paper. Note: smell of burnt paper will be apparent.
