5D20.30 - Temperature Dependence of Resistance - Carbon Resistors

Code Number: 5D20.30
Demo Title: Temperature Dependence of Resistance - Carbon Resistors
Condition: Excellent
Principle: Temperature vs. Resistance
Area of Study: Electricity & Magnetism
Equipment:
Multimeter, Banana Cables, Carbon Resistors, and Liquid Nitrogen.
Procedure:
Hook the desired resistor to the Multimeter which is set to the ohms scale. Immerse the resistor in the liquid nitrogen and observe the dramatic increase in the resistance.
The resistance in the carbon resistors goes UP when immersed in liquid nitrogen.
