Large Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnet, U.S. paper money

Code Number: 5G10.18

Demo Title: Money and Magnets

Condition: Excellent

Principle: High Intensity Magnets

Area of Study: Electricity & Magnetism

Equipment:

Large Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnet, U.S. paper money.

Procedure:

Fold the paper money so that one end is off of the table.  As you bring the Neodymium magnet close to it the iron particles that are in the ink are attracted to the magnet as observed by movement of the dollar bill.
