1J30.23 - Tension in a Spring - Parallel and Series Scales

Code Number: 1J30.23
Demo Title: Tension in a Spring - Parallel and Series Scales
Condition: Good
Principle: Tension in Springs
Area of Study: Mechanics
Equipment:
Multiple Spring Scales of Appropriate Values, and Masses.
Procedure:
Place the springs in parallel, series, or a combination of both and add masses as and where desired. Check the scale readings at each point. Remember that for large series configurations you will probably need to account for the mass of the scales themselves.
